The APPG for London is a forum for MPs and Peers to work together on a cross-party basis to strengthen the capital's voice in Parliament. The group’s purpose is to promote the capital in the interests of all Londoners.
London Councils provides the secretariat to the group on behalf of London government including the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. The group is listed on the APPG Register.

Officers were elected for the year ahead at the APPG for London's AGM. We were also joined by Alison Griffin, Chief Executive, London Councils who gave a presentation on the capital's devolution story and spoke with MPs about what further devolution in London could look like.

Private roundtable with the Housing Ombudsman – Monday 29 January 2024
Social housing provides secure, affordable homes for hundreds of thousands of Londoners. However, too many social homes are in inadequate condition and tenants do not always receive the quality of support they need and deserve. Ahead of regulatory changes from April 2024, the APPG for London and Housing Ombudsman held a private roundtable with social housing providers.

Apprenticeships and social mobility – Monday 13 November 2023
Apprenticeships are an important means of social mobility, however London has seen a decline in the number of young people starting apprenticeships since the introduction of apprenticeship levy. This is concerning given London's higher than average youth unemployment levels and the cost of living crisis. This joint meeting of the APPG for London and the APPG for Apprenticeships examined what can be done to ensure apprenticeships continue to be one way of boosting social mobility both in London and across the country.

London’s housing affordability crisis – Monday 17 July 2023
Housing in London is becoming considerably less affordable, with demand for properties far outstripping supply. The APPG for London heard new research from Savills and LSE into the supply of private rented sector accommodation in London as well as the latest London borough homelessness survey data, followed by a panel discussion.
