Taxicard App Accessibility Monitoring

  • By StacyRands

The Taxicard scheme is administered by London Councils on behalf of the 32 boroughs and City of London. The scheme provides subsidised taxis for vulnerable and disabled people who are unable to use public transport, which is funded by TfL and the boroughs, with ComCab London being the provider of vehicles.

As part of this scheme booking process, customers have a variety of options on how they can make a booking, including digitally through an app. Recently the app was audited by the Government Digital Services, to ensure it met accessibility standards.

This article by the Government Digital Services contains a case study on the process that we and ComCab London went through to make sure the app met the required standards.
