Collaborating to tackle violent crime and extremism - including serious youth violence and violence against women and girls

• Preventing and reducing serious youth violence, knife crime, violence against women and girls, and violent extremism, through collaboration with strategic partners.

London Councils' work in this area includes ensuring that pan-London initiatives reflect local needs and working with the Violence Against Women and Girls [VAWG] Board and MOPAC to take forward the London VAWG Strategy, including the implementation of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.

• London Councils funds services for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence across the capital through its grants programme.
• During the 2017-2022 grants cycle, the programme supported 
• Over 38,000 people accessing advice, counselling and outreach support
• Over 127,000 accessing support via the helpline or through co-ordinated access to refuge provision
• Over 2000 supported by a specialist refuge accommodation and outreach service
